On Saturday, 106 children aged 8 to 14 came to Sindelfingen to learn from the successful judoka. On Sunday, a total of 163 young judokas took the opportunity to experience a unique training session with the top athlete.
The doors opened at 13:00 and the first participants were able to pick up their free IPPONGEAR T-shirt at registration - each individually printed for the children in advance. After registering, the young athletes put on their judo uniforms and eagerly awaited the start of training. At 2 p.m., the time had finally come: Anna-Maria Wagner entered the training hall to great cheers from the children and accompanied by the song “Levels”. The enthusiasm was palpable, and after a brief welcome, the program began.
First there was a playful warm-up before Anna-Maria Wagner revealed her techniques and tricks to the children - valuable tips that could give them a decisive advantage in future competitions. After about an hour of intensive and entertaining training, the children took a short break to watch a highlight video of Anna-Maria's world championship fights.
Afterwards, the young judokas had the opportunity to ask the friendly athlete questions. The children's curiosity seemed to know no bounds: From “What's your favorite food?” to “How do you deal with failure?” - everything the young fans wanted to know got asked. The Q&A session lasted over an hour and was so intense that unfortunately not all the questions got answered.
The crowning glory of the day for most of the children was the personal meeting with the athlete. They had the opportunity to get autographs, take photos and have a quick chat with Anna-Maria. For many, this was the highlight of an unforgettable afternoon - after all, when do you get the chance to train with such a successful athlete and get to know her personally? For the children, this was an unforgettable day that they will not forget soon. Every single child left the training hall with a smile on their face. So it was a complete success for everyone, the children, Anna-Maria and the sport of judo!
The United by Judo Tour continues soon, and the last stop will take place on October 6th in Oranienburg. If you want to get one of the last tickets, you should be quick - there are only a few tickets left.
