The Feather-Weight Division up to 70kg is the first division to be announced and has a surprise in store: Our IPPONGEAR athlete Ademir Barreto de Araújo will be part of the event in a bracket with Diego “Pato” Oliveria, Kennedy Maciel, Shane Jamil Hill-Taylor, Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho, Marco Mendes, Eduardo “Dudu” Granzotto and Joao Mendes.
Ademir Barreto Araujo is an experienced grappler and has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he earned under coach Orlando Júnior. He specializes in the gi discipline (kimono) and represents the GF team. Ademir first attracted attention in the lower belt classes, especially after winning the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro (AJP) title. While still a brown belt, he defeated some of the strongest professional black belts in the sport.
After his silver medal at the IBJJF World Championships 2024 (Feather, Black) Ademir has arrived at the top of the world's best Jiu Jitsu fighters and will do everything in his power to “crown” himself in Long Beach.
