Katarina Kristo: Gold in the weight category -63 kg
In the category -63 kg, Katarina Kristo could be thrilled to win her first ever Grand Slam title and raise the flag for Croatia. Kristo came close earlier this year, as she became runner-up at the Paris Grand Slam but this weekend, Kristo was able to book her spot at the top of the podium.
The tight battle between the two Croatian athletes in the -63 kg category, Iva Oberan and Katarina Kristo, who are both looking to book their Olympic ticket, continues. Last weekend in Dushanbe, it was Oberan who came away with the better result, but this weekend Kristo came out on top.
Lara Cvjetko: Silver in the weight category -70 kg
Since returning to competition after injury, Lara Cvjetko has wasted no time and has been able to win not less than three medals in a row. This weekend, just one week after winning a silver medal at the Dushanbe Grand Slam, Cvjetko could find herself in yet another Grand Slam final and in the end of the day, come away with a silver medal. What a month it has been for Lara Cvjetko! Will she be able to win her fourth consecutive medal at the World Championships in Abu Dhabi later this month?
