386 judoka from 46 different countries traveled to the south of France. It was also an ideal test for the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris next year. The IPPONGEAR team sent their best roster to France to bring home some medals for the records.
Bogdan Iadov: Bronze in the weight class up to 66 kg
The first day could not have started any better. Bogdan Iadov won the bronze medal. This was the first big medal for the Ukrainian 66 kg fighter since he joined the IPPONGEAR team at the beginning of the year.
Sanne van Dijke and Barbara Matic: Bronze in the weight class up to 70 kg
As always, we could rely on our power women up to 70 kilograms. This time, Sanne van Dijke and Barbara Matic prevailed and each secured bronze.
Krizstian Toth: Bronze in the weight class up to 90 kg
Another permanent guest on the podium is Krizstian Toth. The Hungarian legend once again won a medal in his weight class under 90 kilograms. This time he went home with bronze.
Jelle Snippe: Bronze in the over 100 kg weight class
Jelle Snippe concluded the strong team performance of the IPPONGEAR athletes. It was his first medal at a European Championships. He also fought his way to a strong bronze medal in the heavyweight division, taking him a big step closer to his goal of qualifying for next year's Olympic Games and representing his country, the Netherlands.
