The Danish team, supported by Ippongear, made a good appearance by picking up 6 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals.
Nevertheless, the highlight of this year's Nordic Championships was the Mixed teams event held on Sunday - 5 out of 6 participating countries entered the team event.
Again, Team Denmark came close to top the podium, but ended up coming away with a silver medal after losing the gold medal on points to Team Sweden, despite a win in the direct match against the swedish neighbors.
Multiple European cup medalist Lærke Marie Olsen, says about the team competition; "The atmosphere in the sports hall was amazing. It was great to fight on home soil and especially the team event was a great experience"
Also Danish national coach Peter Scharinger was very positive about the Team Event: "The Mixed teams event is a very good initiative, it is good to see that we, in Scandinavia, can follow the Olympic program and add the team event to the Nordic Championship. It is not always easy to match the fighters and the categories represented in the team competition, but I am happy with how we did as a team - Even though it is a shame that we win the direct match against Sweden but end up losing on points. Nevertheless, I think all our fighters represented themselves very well and that we, as a team, are in a good development."
Next year the Nordic Championships will take place in Orimattila, Finland.
Results of the Mixed team event:
1. Sweden
2. Denmark
3. Finland
