As a proud partner and with its own sales booth on site, IPPONGEAR was close to the action and was able to make many people happy with new IPPONGEAR products. Many of the athletes fought proudly in IPPONGEAR judo uniforms, making the event a highlight for us too.
Facts about the Adler Cup
The Adler Cup is widely known and appreciated in the judo world. This year it once again brought together judoka from 49 different countries. A total of over 2000 applications were registered and over 1600 fighters took to the mats to compete in fair but tough fights. The long journeys made by some of the participants were particularly remarkable: young judoka and their families not only traveled from European countries, but even came from the USA, Brazil and Canada to take part in this special tournament.
The winners of the Adler Cup 2024
Special mention goes to the Kano Bremerhaven judo club, which stood out as the best club on both days and secured the win of the Adler Cup. The athletes' performances and the tireless support from their coaches showed how important it is to promote young judo talents.
The prestigious Fraport™ YoungTalent Awards were also presented at the Adler Cup 2024. This award is presented by the referees and went to two outstanding talents this year: Michelle Steinberg from HTG Bad Homburg and Louie Seguin from Great Britain. These young judokas impressed the referees with their remarkable technique, discipline and passion.
Referees from all over the world
The Adler Cup would not be possible without the dedicated referees, who ensured fair fights and a professional atmosphere. This year, a total of 82 referees from various nations were represented, including five from the USA and one from Senegal. A particularly large number of referees also came from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Finland, which further emphasized the international flair of the tournament.
Strong IPPONGEAR representation at the Adler Cup
IPPONGEAR was proud to be part of the event and to see the excitement of the young competitors for our booth and our products. Our team was on site the whole weekend, helping with the selection of new judo uniforms and answering questions about our collection. We were particularly proud to see many of the young talents fighting in IPPONGEAR gis - they were impossible to miss on the mat, helping to further promote our brand in international youth judo.
The Adler Cup 2024 showed us once again how passionate and diverse the judo community is and how important it is to support young talent. The moments in which the judokas compete on the mat are a great incentive for the young athletes and at the same time a valuable experience.
We from IPPONGEAR are already looking forward to next year and are proud to be a part of this vibrant and inspiring judo community. See you at the next Adler Cup!
